Člověk přicházející k lékaři pro zdravotní obtíže s sebou nenese pouze informaci o prožívaném diskomfortu a symptomech, ale ovlivňuje ho několik, leckdy protichůdných motivů. Už jen samotný přechod ze subjektivně prožívaného stavu zdravého člověka do role pacienta může být pro některé jedince velmi náročný. Současně i pouhé očekávání této změny působí při rozhodování o tom, zda jít, či nejít k lékaři...
